Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the Dunsandel Bowling Club website, member accounts, tournament entries, and club hire bookings.
Last updated: 20 September 2026
1. About these terms
This website is operated by Dunsandel Bowling Club, a community lawn bowls club based at 2 Leeston Dunsandel Road, Dunsandel 7682, Canterbury, New Zealand. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
See also our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information.
2. Using this website
You may browse the public parts of the site — including club information, calendar, draws, results, and the noticeboard — without an account.
When using the site you must not:
- break any law, or use the site to harass, abuse, or mislead anyone;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or administration areas you are not authorised to use;
- interfere with the site's operation, security, or availability, including through automated bulk requests or scraping;
- submit entries, notices, or other content that is false, offensive, or that you do not have the right to provide.
We may suspend or remove access, and withdraw submitted content, where we believe these rules have been broken.
3. Accounts and membership
Creating an account is separate from becoming a member. You need an account to apply to join, save a member profile, and enter club-only tournaments. A club administrator reviews each application, and the member area, member directory, and club-only entries unlock once your membership is approved.
- Provide accurate details, and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password (or connected Google account) secure, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account. Do not share your sign-in details.
- If you are under 16, please ask a parent, guardian, or club officer to help you create an account and complete your profile.
You can delete your own account from the member area at any time. Deletion removes your personal profile details and photo; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to entries and records when an account is deleted.
4. Tournament entries and results
Public tournament entry forms can be completed without an account, or from a member account. When a public entry is accepted we issue a single recovery link so you can view, edit, or withdraw that entry. The link is shown only once, is time-limited, and stops working if you withdraw the entry — keep it safe, because we cannot show it again.
- Only submit an entry you are authorised to make on behalf of its players.
- Entries are subject to the tournament's published conditions of play, its closing time, entry limits, and the decisions of the club's match committee.
- Submitting an entry does not guarantee a place; entries may be declined or adjusted where a tournament is full or a rule is not met.
- Published draws and results are visible to everyone, including players' names and team or club names.
5. Club hire
Hire information on this site, including any indicative pricing, is a guide only. A hire is only confirmed once the club has accepted your booking and agreed the details with you directly. Hirers are responsible for the conduct of their group, for leaving the clubrooms and green in good order, and for any damage caused during the hire.
6. Notices, links, and other content
The noticeboard may link to or embed notices and documents hosted elsewhere, and some pages link to third-party sites. We do not control those external services and are not responsible for their content or availability.
7. Intellectual property and credits
The club name, logo, written content, and photography on this site belong to the club or are used with permission. Please ask before reusing them. Where we display credited material, the credit must be retained:
- Aerial drone imagery is credited to Chris Dalzell.
- Aerial map imagery is sourced from the LINZ Data Service and licensed for reuse under CC BY 4.0.
8. Third-party services
The site relies on third-party providers for sign-in, data storage, hosting, and email delivery, and may offer Google as a sign-in option. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the site available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may change, be suspended, or be withdrawn, particularly outside the bowls season. We may update these terms; the version published on this page, with its “last updated” date, applies from the date it is posted, and continued use of the site means you accept it.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Club information is published in good faith for general information. It is not professional advice, and you should confirm time-sensitive details such as dates, draws, and hire arrangements with the club before relying on them.
To the extent permitted by law, the club is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986, or the Privacy Act 2020, or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
